How We Lay Your Driveway Interlocking Pavers

Our impeccable interlocking services involve several key steps to ensure the best results.
By doing the work ourselves we can be sure no shortcuts are taken.

Excavation
We check the sub-soil and make sure it’s appropriate before we begin. If clay is found we will dig further beneath to add additional durability to your interlocking driveway.
Laying the Underlayment
After the excavation process we will add geotextile fabric to the area. This acts as a layer to separate the gravel from the soil. This benefits the quality and longevity of the work. First, the geotextile fabric will separate the gravel from the soil. If gravel and soil mix over time, when the winter season comes together with frosting and heaving, then the sub-base will be affected underneath. This is how our driveway interlocking lasts for a long time, without sinking, regardless of vehicle weight.
Adding Gravel Base
We use clear gravel as it allows for water to drain. This prevents the sub base from moving around during the winter. The gravel is compacted at intervals of 1-2 inches going up for correct density.
Compacting Gravel
We compact the gravel at 1-2 inche intervals going up, while always testing the density of the compaction to ensure there are no soft spots.
Laying Pavers
We level as we lay the pavers to make sure each spot of the driveway has the correct sloping. We use 3-inch stone products to prevent cracking and add durability.

Our experience with Shabatin Interlock had been exceptional from start to finish. The owner had made sure we could contact him and always responded to our inquiries. He made sure to thoroughly explain the details of the project and answered all our questions before the project began. The price we were quoted for our patio and stairs was the price that we actually paid. The guys did wonderful work. They were able to move part of our fence to enable the heavy equipment to enter the backyard, and placed it back after the work was done. They worked hard and effeciently, instructed us on how to care for our patio, and finished our patio and stairs in just two days. Overall, the experience had gone smoothly and we loved the end result. A big thank you to Shabatin Interlock for everything.

If you are reading this - congratulations to you! You did it! After all that searching you finally found the perfect person to tackle your project - Costa is your guy.

Costa and his crew transformed our backyard into a beautiful space. We love it. I drink my morning coffee outside now so I can admire the stonework while the caffeine kicks in. The thing that stood out during the whole process was how much Costa and team cared about doing things right. They backtracked and redid pavers if even the smallest detail was off. They cut channels into the steps so cables could flow nicely. They avoided wet cutting to reduce sludge on the driveway. No shortcuts. They had pride in their work and it showed in spades.

Shoutout to Bessie for the smart design recommendations and for fixing the stucco. Hats off to Idan and Andy for battling our tree stump, hauling stone and pretending like they weren't working in a heatwave. True professionals.

We had our driveway repaired by Shabatin Interlock last week. I chose Shabatin because I got the feeling Costa really wanted the finished product to look good, and he worried our existing bricks wouldn't do the job (since some were missing and damaged), which made sense. This tells me he put decent thought into the work. He communicated well throughout the process, and remembered and referred back to my concerns about water drainage and inadequate compaction when the driveway was originally paved. The finished product looks great, the driveway feels quite solid, and I would recommend Shabatin to others needing driveway repair. (Of course it's only been a week so time will tell.)

The price was reasonable (not the highest or lowest quote if I recall correctly) but I think it was good value for the work. As people move to electric vehicles, we should remember they weigh a lot more and we shouldn't cheap out on building and repairing our driveways!

WE RETAINED THE SERVICES OF SHABATIN INTERLOCK TO DO AN IMPORTANT PATIO AREA LEADING TO OUR BACKYARD GAZEBO. FROM THE MOMENT WE CALLED COSTA WE WERE TREATED FAIRLY AND RESPECTFULLY. THE WORK WAS BEAUTIFULLY DONE AND DONE ON TIME AT A REASONABLE PRICE. COSTA AND HIS STAFF WERE ALWAYS READY TO EXPLAIN AT EVERY STAGE OF THE WORK. THEY WORKED IN TRYING CIRCUMSTANCES WITH TEMPERATURES HOVERING OVER 30C AND HUMIDEX IN EXCESS OF 40C. THEY FINISHED THE WORK ON TIME EVEN WORKING EVENINGS UNTIL 9,00 PM.
THE END RESULT WAS FANTASTIC WITH A BEAUTIFUL PATIO THAT WILL GIVE US PLEASURE FOR YEARS. WE HIGHLY RECOMMEND COSTA FOR ANY SUCH PROJECTS. WE HAVE ALREADY INDICATED TO HIM THAT WE WILL WISH TO RETAIN HIS SERVICES FOR ANOTHER JOB IN THE FALL.
